PRIVACY

One address. One email.
Nothing else.

This page is short because there is very little to say. If anything here is unclear, or you want your address removed, write to hello@twelfthfret.app and it will be dealt with.

The app collects nothing

Twelfth Fret does its work entirely on your phone. It does not create an account, does not ask you to sign in, and does not send anything anywhere — no audio, no usage data, no identifiers, no analytics. It runs in flight mode. There is no server for it to talk to, which is the simplest way to be sure nothing leaves.

What follows is only about this website, which is a separate thing.

What this site collects

If you enter your email address in the form, we store your email address. That is the whole list. No name, no company, no tracking pixel, no cookie that follows you around, no advertising network, no analytics.

Why

To send you one email on the day the app is released. Nothing before it, nothing after it. It will not become a newsletter, you will not be told about anything else, and the list will not be sold, shared, rented or passed to anybody.

The lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe.

Who else touches it

The list is held by Buttondown, an email service that acts as our data processor and stores data in the United States. They process addresses on our instructions only, under contractual terms covering international transfers. They are not permitted to use your address for their own purposes.

The site itself is served as static files with no server-side logging of visitors. The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads, as it would for any site using them.

How long we keep it

Until the launch email has gone out, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first. If the app is never released, the list is deleted and we will tell you before doing so.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to it being used. For a list this small, all of those amount to the same short email, and the answer will be quick.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator. We would rather you told us first, but it is your right either way.

Who we are

Twelfth Fret is made by one person in the United Kingdom. The data controller is that person, reachable at hello@twelfthfret.app.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that affects you, you will be told in the one email you are already expecting rather than by a silent edit.
